A note from the Chair

Dear All

I know that I have only been involved with the partnership for the past 18 months but really would like to add my thanks for your input and support.

I think our Big Society meeting proved that we have a great deal of community engagement going on in the West with good local leadership in evidence. I only wish that this could be seen at County level.

I look forward to working with you again in the future
With thanks again and kind regards

Anne Moyle

The end of the Partnership..

The final meeting of the NSP in its’ current form was held on 30 March 2011.

The NSP will go forward with a new group of 13 individuals representing organisations from across the County. Once they have been selected and working to the recently finalised Sustainable Community Strategy one of their first tasks will be to decide on key priorities and work accordingly.

The main strand for engagement with the community would appear to be seen via the county & parish councils, however, it was unclear whether the Area Committees will continue in their current form. There is a strong belief by NCC that these work well in the North and West it is likely that they will.

As a consequence we were invited to stand down the Area Partnerships.

There will need to be a short transition period, during which time we will seek to pass on any key strands of work to whoever will be taking on the responsibility.

Please get in touch with Richard Powell if you would like to have a closure meeting or attend one of the next Area Committee meetings* to air your views there.
